'Dr. Subhas Mukherjee Memorial Social Service Initiative' had started their welfare activities in Sundarban from 2015 under the leadership of Late Col. Bhupal Lahiri, 1971 war hero, a noted writer and philanthropist in association of Shri Subhrendu Ray Chaudhuri one of the veterans of Information Technology in India, a wellknown writer and philanthropist from the premises of Dr. Subhas Mukherjee Memorial Reproductive Biology Research Centre, Behala Industrial Estate, Kolkata.
The Research Centre was headed by late Prof. Sunit Mukherjee who assisted Dr. Subhas Mukherjee in giving birth to India's first test tube baby in 1978. We feel blessed that initially we got the opportunity in receiving Prof. Mukherjee's expert guidances to chalk out of our Nutrition Enhancement Program in Sundarban.
To improve the lives of underprivileged children in rural Bengal through nutrition, education, and welfare programs. We strive to enhance their health and learning by providing nutritious meals and computer literacy.
To build a brighter future for children by ensuring access to quality education and better health, fostering holistic development in vulnerable communities.
We aim to empower children with education and opportunities to improve their future.
We believe in partnerships, working together with organizations, donors, and communities for lasting change.

In 2015, under the 'Dr. Subhas Mukherjee Memorial Social Service Initiative', we launched a nutrition program in Sundarban to supplement the Government's Mid Day Meal in primary schools, helping combat acute malnutrition. Starting with one school, we expanded to three within a year.
We initiated a Computer education program in primary schools in Sundarban, with support from TCS, Patron International, and Rotary Club, as well as donations of desktops and laptops. We established computer labs in 12 schools before the COVID-19 pandemic, and added a 13th lab after the pandemic.
Two years ago, the Pathakoli Institute was established in rural Bengal to provide pre-primary education to 35 underprivileged children. Funded by patrons and trustees, including Shri Bibekanand Pal, who built and leased the facility, the institute offers education and nutritious meals to support children's growth.
The unregulated use of groundwater for cultivation in Sundarban is causing rapid depletion, with forecasts predicting a complete dry-up within 10-15 years. To mitigate this, the 'Save Water' project was launched, replacing taps with water-saving nozzles, reducing water usage by 30% in several schools.
